Send Traces Implementing a Custom Producer

Monitoring team doesn't provide support for traces provided by service managers at the moment, although some exploratory work has been done and we plan to offer it at some point (2026+).

For the time being, if you are interested on sending traces to us, please let us know via SNOW, and we might offer some PoC, non stable, non production ready flow for you to test.

Open Telemetry Traces

As mentioned, we don't provide a service per-se to store traces at the moment, but they can still be sent to us using the OTEL endpoint if previously agreed.

Storages

Currently we are experimenting using Grafana Tempo as the storage for traces.

Send data

Sending data using OTLP can be achieved with any tool that supports this kind of output, in our case we have more experience using Fluentbit and so we will be able to provide extra support when configuring it if required.

Otherwise, here you will find the connection details needed for you to start sending your data to the "monit-otlp" endpoint. We keep the endpoint uris by default, so no need to specify them.
