Welcome to Monit Kubernetes Helm Chart
As part of the effor to offer a common set of tools to provide monitoring capabilities for the full datacentre the CERN IT Monitoring team provides a Helm chart that includes all the necessary components to collect both metrics and logs from Kubernetes clusters and the applications running on them. The chart is available in the GitLab CERN repository, and you can find the full documentation here.
Please don't forget that in order to integrate with the MONIT infrastructure you should have a valid tenant.
Data Access
Once you have installed your Helm chart your data will be available under the MONIT infrastructure in specific backends depending on the type of it, below you will be able to find how to access to your data.
Metrics
Access to the metrics provided by the Helm chart can be done at two levels:
- Under the Prometheus server deployed in K8s
- Using Grafana configuring a Prometheus datasource as explained in the link website
Logs
Access to the logs provided by the Helm chart can be done using monit-timberprivate cluster, please refer to the Grafana documentation on how to configure your Elasticsearch/OpenSearch datasource in the monit-timberprivate
cluster.
